Egg Donation In Parents Life

The egg donation is one of the most important aspect of the modern assisted reproductive technologies (ART). It costs several times less than a surrogacy. Moreover, that is not the extent of its importance – egg donation is just as much important as it is demanded. The difference is that by taking a decision to become an egg donor, a woman does not expose her body to radical and long-term changes as in the case of a surrogacy. In addition, given the current development of the ART in Ukraine, all possible risks are minimized. Egg retrieval procedure can be done repeatedly. However, to preserve woman’s reproductive health, a maximum of 8 attempts of controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) for life is recommended. A repeated attempt of the COS can be done not earlier than 2-3 months after the previous one.

To participate in the egg donation program, you are invited to fill in the egg donor profile. Before you fill in the application form, read the requirements for egg donors below. After the approval of your candidate as an egg donor, your information will be included in our database. If the intended parents select your application to participate in the egg donation program, we will notify you immediately.

For the participation in the egg donation program, we offer an average of 15,000 hryvnia per ovarian puncture. However, this fee may be revised on your request depending on the number and quality of eggs produced during the ovarian puncture. The fee is paid at the time of completion of the ovarian puncture procedure.

An egg donor undergoes all medical examinations in the IVF clinic. We also cover transport and in some cases accommodation expenses in Kiev for the time of the ovarian puncture procedure.

We are sincerely looking forward to cooperating with you!

The application of ART in Ukraine

The application of ART in Ukraine is regulated by the Order of the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine No. 787 “On Approval of the Procedure of Assisted Reproductive Technologies Application”, dated September 9, 2013. This procedure regulates the relations between the patients (women and men) and the health institutions that provide the appliance of the assisted reproductive techniques and specifies the mechanism and the conditions for their application.

In this Procedure, under the ART are understood methods of infertility treatment in which the manipulations with the reproductive cells, some or all stages of their preparation, fertilization processes and embryo development up to their transfer into the patient’s uterus are carried out in conditions In Vitro – the technique of the experiment or other manipulations in a special laboratory container or in a controlled environment outside a living organism.

Egg donation is a procedure by which an egg donor by a written voluntary consent provides her sex cells – gametes (egg cells) – for a use by others in the infertility treatment applying ART techniques.

Egg donors can be:

  • A female person,
  • Close relatives,
  • Anonymous voluntary donors,
  • A patient of the ART programs, who by a written voluntary consent gives to the recipient some of her eggs.

Egg donors requirements:

  • Woman aged 18 to 36 years old,

  • Absence of negative phenotypic manifestations,
  • Satisfactory physical health,

  • Preparation of a recipient to the cryo embryo transfer for embryo-transfer in a scheduled menstrual cycle,
  • IVF techniques, intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI, if indicated),
  • Egg donor supervision by an OB/GYN before the next menstrual period (about 2 weeks) expected for the egg donor cycle,
  • Egg cells can be vitrified for later use in subsequent cycles.
