Neurological disease is typical during the pregnancy. It is important to recognize emergencies, for example new or severe headaches, seizures and alterations in the mental status. Prompt treatment will reduce morbidity and mortality. A gestational hypertension is the most common etiology for new neurologic signs and symptoms. Chronic conditions for example migraines, seizure disorder, multiple sclerosis and myasthenia gravis could be managed to ensure that there is little if any effect on the pregnancy.
