“Three-parent” Baby Born in Ukraine
Three parent baby was born in Ukraine after being conceived by utilizing DNA from three people, a Kiev-based private clinic of reproductive medicine has announced. The child was delivered on Jan. 5 to a 34-year-old woman who formerly endured infertility related treatment and had problems due to embryonic hold up.
Based on the statement, the doctors used the method known as “pro-nuclear transfer” to impregnate her.
Under the method, the nucleuses of reproductive cells from the woman and her husband were transferred into the healthy egg from the female donor, the statement stated.
Based on the clinical test results carried out in Ukraine as well as in Germany, the infant has roughly 25,000 genes inherited from the formal mother and dad and 37 genes from the egg donor.
The child is presumably the second three parent baby on the planet. A year ago, a fertility clinic in Mexico reported the birth of the first baby, who carries the DNA of three people.
